4. Beverages high in sugar should not be consumed immediately after a workout — Not true. Follow the logic, you body just used most, if not all, of your stored sugar reserves. By just drinking water immediately after a workout your body is thrown into a state of starvation which triggers your metabolic rate to come to a screeching halt — stopping the fat burn and initiating the cannibalization of your muscle tissue. Fact: Sugar is not the enemy, it is simply the over consumption and lack of good timing of sugar that has caused our problems today. It’s okay to enjoy the sweeter things in life, but do it in moderation and always have a Recovery Shake within 45 minutes of a workout. You earned it. EAT WELL!
