Nutrition Quarterly Fall 2022

Kid's What is the appropriate age for my child to begin working out and what should their nutritional intake be? This can be one of the most common questions parents may have about the health and wellness of their children. The answer to this question begins in several areas and whether you have pre-teens or toddlers the key word I use is, being “active”. The earlier we implement the mindset of being “active”, the easier it will become to live a healthy lifestyle for your child and family. Being active can translate to playing sports, daily walks, local small group fitness classes, or spending some time at a local park playground. As we maintain an active lifestyle for our children, their nutritional intake will play a huge role as a source of what I call, “fueling” their body. The more active they are the more their bodies will need to be fueled with proper nutrition. As parents, we all know our children can grow at rapid speeds so making sure they are properly fueled and remaining active is a great balance to have in their lifestyle.
