ADJUNCT INGREDIENTS Lastly, it’s just not the protein that is being absorbed by the body. Added flavors, sweeteners and enzymes are often added to formulas of both whey and plant proteins. These need to come from clean sources, too. Read the label and be sure you understand the sources of these. Choose organic! THE TAKEAWAY Because your body is made primarily of the proteins that you consume, choosing the right source is important. When looking at protein supplementation, whether you prefer a dairy-based option like whey or a plant-based option like pea or quinoa, your focus should be on how clean the source is and how bioavailable the protein is to your body. Choose products from reputable sources whose supplements are free from unnecessary additives like hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, sugar and fillers. If you nudge up the amount of protein in your diet with clean products, you may be amazed at how accessible your health and wellness goals are!
