Spring is a time of rebirth, renewal and regrowth – considering all things in a new light. With warmer spring weather on the horizon, maybe you’re thinking about new ways to exercise by incorporating the outdoors. Maybe you’re looking forward to your local farmers market opening back up so that you can include new, nutritious and delicious produce into your meals. Maybe you’re considering changes to your diet and exercise routine in order to bulk up or cut down, to run faster or longer, to lift more or to stretch further. All of these goals can be reached with the help of protein and other natural, whole-foods based supplements. While we always encourage eating as many whole-foods in their natural form as possible, sometimes boosting your healthy meals with whole-foods based supplements give you just the edge you need to reach your fitness and exercise goals. Protein supplementation is a biggie for me. Getting enough protein in can be tough with my busy schedule, and I know I need protein to feel fuller throughout the day, as well as to help my muscles recover after a workout. Protein supplementation after a workout is so important! However, if I’m on the run (like I usually am), packing a baked chicken breast and taking a bite out of it in the middle of a long drive isn’t exactly appealing. Supplementation is a convenient way for me to reach my goals without sacrificing clean nutrition OR convenience. Whether your goals involve getting outside more, taking in more substantial nutrients, or pushing yourself physically, I trust that there are ideas and methods that will work for you within these pages.
