By: Darby Young FUNCTIONAL FOODS PINEAPPLE The Best Time to Workout There is no question that exercising should be a part of everybody’s daily life. Working out each day keeps your weight controlled, combats against sicknesses, boosts your energy level, and even improves your mood. The amount of mental and physical health benefits are through the roof. However, when you think deeper into it, there are many different factors that go into your workout routine. There are many different things that people change, and some benefit your workout more than others. One of the main things that not many people think about is the time of day you do your workout. Is it better to exercise in the morning, or in the afternoon? The answer depends a lot on your goals and you as a person, and studies have shown that both have many benefits, but working out in the morning does prove to be more beneficial to most people. One of the benefits of working out in the morning is weight loss. Especially without eating before, when you work out in the morning you have a better chance of burning stored fat. This is mainly because, said by a sport science professor named Anthony Hackney, in the morning the human body’s hormonal composition is set up for this exact goal. People can burn up to 20 percent more body fat on an empty stomach. Another way early morning workouts help is that they are found to activate certain genes in your muscle cells, which boosts their ability to metabolize sugars and fats, which in turn helps with not only weight loss, but also people with Type 2 • Pineapple contains micronutrients such as copper, thiamine, and vitamin B6, which are crucial for a healthy metabolism. • Pineapples are rich in antioxidants that can reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. • Pineapples contain anti-inflammatory properties that enhance immune function.
