Managing a work/personal life balance is difficult, but what happens when you throw something else into the mix? We routinely make sacrifices to allow ourselves time for various things in our lives. We try our best to prioritize and make room in our days for the things we absolutely need to do, but sometimes, some of those things fall by the wayside. Many of us lead very busy lives and already find it difficult to even just set aside a little time for ourselves, but what happens when we try to squeeze in an hour (or a few) to work on our health and wellness? As a competitive athlete, I spend a large chunk of my time on training and nutrition. My time in the gym will often take anywhere from two to four hours per session, four times a week, and I couldn’t even tell you how much time I spend on meal planning and preparation. With that said, however, I’m also a regular person in the world. Aside from being a national level Olympic weightlifter, I am a farmer, a fitness coach, a dog and cat mom, a significant other, a friend, a daughter, and then some. On an average day, I drive roughly 50 miles and am out of the house from sun up to sun down. I am constantly on the go and because of that, I have to make sacrifices in order to ensure my days run on schedule.
