Each Spring, I’m renewed by the warmer weather and the slowly increasing daylight hours. Energized by the changes, I do what I can to take full advantage of the outdoors, especially these days! With the additional movement and exercise, it’s important to optimize nutrition as best I can to support those extra stresses, I’m putting on my body. Achieving my health and fitness goals gets easier as fresh, local produce becomes more bountiful! With this in mind, we’re focusing on Protein and Supplements in this issue. Supplementation is essential when putting your body through new levels of stress and the best way to lean down is to support muscle growth post-workout using appropriately timed nutrition. Not only does Protein and other Nutrients help reduce muscle-ache afterwards, it also helps them rebuild stronger! Now, my go-to Protein source post-workout is a delicious recovery shake because it is easily and quickly digestible, and well- rounded with fruits, veggies, and whey protein – but we’ve got ideas for other sources too! Whey protein and other types of supplements are great to cover your bases and any gaps that may occur nutritionally over the course of the day. Whatever your goals are this season, we’re here to help keep you performing at your best! Eat Well!
